Are you looking for a biofuel solution for your existing refinery that is easy to implement, cost effective and provides a significant reduction of GHG emissions?

Did you ever consider using Fast Pyrolysis Bio-Oil (FPBO) on your FCC unit and how this can support you in reaching your business goals?

FPBO is a dark brown liquid which blooks like an oil. It is produced by fast pyrolysis of lignocellulosic biomass (residues from forestry, agriculture and related industries). Therefor it does not compete with the food chain or any other land use and its GHG savings are well above that of other biofuels, making it one of the most promising biofuels for the near future. Today FPBO is produced at commercial scale, for example at Empyro in The Netherlands, in a volume of 25,000 metric tons per year.

Co-processing FPBO in a FCC unit is a rather novel commercially available alternative to refiners so it might come with some questions. This is why TechnipFMC and BTG Bioliquids prepared a whitepaper on the principle of FCC co-processing, an overview of the FPBO properties and FAQ on both the technical and the commercial aspects.
